It doesn’t have to be Father’s day for kids to sing a daddy song. Did you know that when kids have to pause and use clapping while singing it solidifies their learning?
That’s right, when kids have to MOVE and SING they are more likely to learn. They make connections between what they’re doing and what they’re learning which helps them remember new concepts. And when kids are given opportunities to practice pausing or changing their actions, they are practicing self-regulation.
Like in this video, the second verse has kids clap once. Then the third verse has them clap twice, and so on. It can be really silly, but also helps them have skills they need for more challenging activities taught in Kindergarten.
