Flowers and Soil

Kids love to get messy and explore. Try buying a small bouquet of flowers, and laying them out on a table with a little bit of soil. Toss in some egg cartons, or small cup containers and some magnifying glasses and you created a Science investigation!

Don’t forget to ask a few open questions to promote your child’s thinking such as:

“How do they grow?”

“What can we do with the dirt? Why?”

“How did they grow like this?”

“What might happen if ___ “

“Why are they different colors?”

“Where can flowers come from?”
